UPDATE

I am sure everyone is tired of hearing about my counted cross stitch but I wanted to tell you that I decided to send for the Wolf kit too.  After talking to Debbie this afternoon she said she could see why I liked that one.  I guess that was one of the signs that I should send for it because today only Herschenners were having free shipping and the kit was already on sale. They do that free shipping every couple of months or so.  I ordered it and now I have two kits coming.  I still have to do the outlining on half of the picture.  I should have that done in a few days.

I brought my Ottlite upstairs because the Ottlite Donna has is not as large so does not cover as big an area.  The light she has has a switch that is getting harder and harder for me to turn on and off.  My light just has a push button.  Since I am now going to be spending months up  here on my project I want good lighting.

COUNTED CROSS STITCH

I am almost finished with my Autumn Counted Cross Stitch project.  I am doing the outlining now and then it will be finished.  I was going to wait awhile before I started another project but then I couldn't think of any other thing I really wanted to do.  I thought about knitting or crocheting something but I just love the Counted Cross Stitch so much.  At first I was thinking about doing this Wolf picture because it would be so simple.  My bedroom has that black and red quilt and every time some one sees it they think it is Oriental.  I had orginally meant to put the Oriental wall hanging in my bedroom and then decided it was too large.  The Oriental Crane picture is the one I picked out awhile back to put in the bedroom.  It is a little larger than Autumn one I did and I really didn't want to get started on another large one but as you can see it is a lot easier to do than my Autumn Scene, so with Donna's encouragement, I sent for the Oriental Crane picture.
Maybe with any luck, it won't take me as long as my Autumn picture did.  I may do the Wolf picture later. I kept going back to this one.  For some reason it appeals to me.

BEAUTIFUL FUSCHIA PLANT

Lovely Fuschia Plant

Donna got this plant for Teacher's Appreciation Day.  It was so beautiful I had to take a picture of it and put it on my blog.  Donna got a Fuschia last year too, but it was not nearly as pretty as this one.  Now the big job is to keep it watered.  Fuschias take lots of water.

AMAZON

I just thought I would let you know my experience with Amazon.  This is the book cover I bought for my Samsung Galaxy tablet.  I mentioned earlier that one corner does not hold tight and I have to be very careful my tablet does not fall out.  I decided to e-mail Amazon about the problem.  I got a response in just a couple of hours. I didn't really expect them to do anything about it.  I just wanted them to know that for $40.00 I did not think this was a very good product.  Anyway, they gave me two choices.  I could mail it back and get a full refund or I could keep it and they would refund half the price of the product and refund the shipping. I chose to keep the product.  I filled out the box and told them it was still usable and that I just have to be very careful.  I said I would keep checking covers and maybe find one more suitable in the future.  This morning I got an e-mail that said my refund would show up on my credit card in three to five days.

I am very impressed with Amazon.  I shop a lot there, mainly digital books for my Kindle.

QUILTING RETREAT

This is the nice bedroom that Donna and I had
These are the stairs going to the sewing room

I had such a nice time at the Quilting Retreat.  It was so wonderful to visit with everyone.  I am so happy that I can still get around and go places.

I loved looking at all the beautiful quilts.

At the Quilting Supply warehouse I found a pattern to make a soft cover to go over my tablet.  I will still leave my tablet in the hard cover.

We decided on a name for our Quilting group.  We are the "Jelly Rollers"

wall hanging

I did finally manage to get this picture back on

pictures

On my samsung galaxy tablet , I think every picture that I ever had put on my computer is here.  I have pictures of clayton and me on our first cruise, pictures of debbie  and I in washington dc, pictures that were on my "lost post".  I was trying to do a new post and I can't get any of  the pictures to go on my blog. I don't know much about computers.  I didn't put these pictures on my tablet. They just went on by themsellves, Also, this intelligent tablet downloaded all my sites, like my bank, everyone's blogs , everything in my favorites.

I have put lots of pictures on my blog so I cannot figure this out. The recent pictures I took are no problem.

COVER FOR SAMSUNG GALAXY TABLET

Cover standing up
Debbie has been looking for a cover for her Samsung Galaxy tablet.  I sent for this one.  It will do.  I am not really thrilled with it but the cover is very durable and will give good protection.  It holds in fairly tight but I wouldn't go carrying it around open because I would not trust the tablet not to fall out. The corner built-in clips are not very large and even though it is in tight, one corner tends to be a tiny bit loose.  It stands up pretty good.  I would not suggest buying this.  I paid too much for it in my opinion.  I read all the reviews before I bought it and thought it would be better. I am sure there are better ones than this but for now I will put up with it.

HELENA, MONTANA

Debbie and I are taking a trip to Helena, Montana in July.  Helena is a historical city.  It is the city where my sister and I were born.  I have always wanted to see where I was born.  I'm in the process of finding places to see in Helena and nearby.

                A little history about Helena------

Helena was founded with the July 14, 1864 discovery of gold in a gulch off the Prickly Pear Valley by the "four Georgians".  The city's main street is named "Last Chance Gulch" and lies close to the winding path of the original gulch through the historic downtown district.
The townsite was first surveyed in1865 by Captain John Wood.  However, many of the original streets followed the chaotic paths of the miners, going around claims and following the winding gulch.  As a result, few city blocks are consistent in size, rather they have an irregular variety of shapes and sizes.
By 1888, about 50 millionaires lived in Helena, more per capita than any city in the world. (About 3.6 billion in today's dollars.)
The Last Chance Placer is one of the most famous placer deposits in the Western United States. Much of the Placer is now under the streets and buildings.  As late as 1970 when repairs were being made to a bank a vein of Placer

Gold was found under the bank's foundation.
The official symbol of Helena is a drawing of "The Guardian of the Gulch", a wooden watch tower that still stands on "Tower Hill" overlooking the historic downtown district.
In 1902, the Montana State Capitol building was completed.  Helena has been the Capitol of Montana Territory since 1875 and the State of Montana since 1889.

Helena is located at an altitude of 4,058 feet.  The population of Helena is 28,592. I am excited about going and it will be fun to go on a trip with Debbie again.

There is a tourist train that I want us to ride. We should see several of the historic sites including the watch tower.

SAME PICTURES AGAIN

I put these pictures on again.  When we go to the Quilting Retreat this weekend I wanted everyone to see the quilt she is working on.  Thought I would put a picture of my counted cross stitch project on too.  I will be helping Donna with the new quilt she is making.  The one in the above picture is the one she will be putting on their Murphy bed.  The new quilt Donna is making has a lot of blue.  Blue is one of Donna's favorite colors.  I am more into bold colors.  I like deep pinks, reds and purples.

NEWEST TOY

This is a picture of my newest toy.  The Samsung Galaxy 10" tablet.  It is so great.  This computer does everything I need it to do.  I really didn't pay that much for it.  A while back I thought I would like to go on the Christmas Cruise that Donna and Leif are taking.  It is 11 days.  I got to thinking it over and decided that was just too long.  Also, that is usually the month that I get Bronchitis. I really had it bad last winter and the last thing I need to do is be out on a ship and be sick.  Anyway, I had put a deposit down on the cruise and when I decided to cancel the deposit was refunded to my American Express Card.  The Samsung Galaxy that I bought was $325 and  had an instant manufacturer's rebate of $50 and I had $229 left on my refund on the American Express card so I decided that was what I was going to do. David will be down this Winter again so we will just do our own Christmas things.

LOST IN SPACE

I was working on my blog and somehow after all these years I have managed to push some wrong button and have lost a year's worth of my posts.  I don't know if it is possible to get them back.  Does anyone know?  I am going to have to look at pictures and start blogging again practically from scratch.
